Testimony Tree

A wall installation 10” x 12” x 8”. A large piece of remnant maple wood has been sewn together with jute rope and is hung in front of a wall.  This piece is dramatically lit and then text is spontaneously written on the wall, in graphite. The text circles the piece like aging rings inside of a tree.  The text follows the cast shadow.  Each time Testimony Tree is installed, a different topic and time in life is written about in a stream of consciousness style.  When the installation is removed, the story is recorded in a book.  There are six stories to date, please view through the link attached.
