Widow’s Mite

This wall sculpture is crafted from rolled pages of Scripture assembled in the form of a star. At the center is a hand crafted whorl which used to be used in biblical times to create yarn from wool by pulling the wool through the center hole, a widow’s craft. The penny placed on it represents the widow’s meager contribution to the temple, yet all that she had. The entire piece is covered in a dusting of salt to as a metaphor for the wisdom of this act. 24″x24″
